Sustainable Development

Heidelberg Materials Group is а member of the Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI), a project headed by the biggest cement producers worldwide. It was set up in alliance with the Geneva based World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) with the objective to facilitate actions and to promote the progress towards sustainable development. Heidelberg Materials Group focuses its activities on the balance between the three pillars of sustainable development:

  2. Social responsibility
  3. Environment 

In compliance with Heidelberg Materials Group’s commitment to sustainable development, Heidelberg Materials Devnya and Heidelberg Materials Vulkan have identified the care for the environment, health and safety and energy efficiency as key priorities in their management policies and corporate culture. In the recent years, the Companies made substantial efforts and investments towards the continuous improvement of production efficiency, the promotion of employee’s, stakeholder’s and local community’s wellbeing and towards the reduction of environmental footprint.
